Method for all IronClad Tiles

4X4= 4 minutes
6X6= 5 minutes
8X8= 7 minutes
8X10= 4.5 minutes
12X12= 8 minutes

1) Print the transfer.

2) Place 1/2" Nomex Felt on the bottom of the heat press and then place a protective sheet of paper on top of the felt.

3) Lightly mist the transfer with DyeTrans Pro Spray or use heat tape. Place the transfer on the face of the tile, smooth wrinkles. Should you decide to use heat tape, be sure it does not overlap the image on the other side of the page. Improperly applied heat tape will cause the affected area of the transfer to be inhibited.

4) Place the tile face up onto the protective paper and felt. Cover with 1/8" thick Green Rubber Pad

5) Press with Temp/Time/Pressure settings listed above.

6) Carefully remove tile from the press and allow to air cool.

You can press more than 1 tile at a time if you have 2 or more inches of empty space surrounding all four sides of the tile. Add 1 minute of dwell time for each additional tile used during an imprinting session. For example, to press four 4x4 tiles add 3 minutes for a total time of 11 minutes.
*Be careful with the timing, too long in the press may cause purplish discoloration.

Rubber Method Instructions

3) Lightly mist the transfer with DyeTrans Pro Spray or use heat tape. Place the transfer on the face of the tile, smooth wrinkles. Should you decide to use heat tape, be sure it does not overlap the image on the other side of the page. Improperly applied heat tape will cause the affected area of the transfer to be inhibited.

4) If using rubber, then place the tile face down onto the protective paper and apply the rubber to the back of the tile.

5) Press with Temp/Time/Pressure settings listed above.

6) Carefully remove tile from the press and allow to air cool.

4) If using felt: With the transfer attached to the face of the tile, place the tile face down on the felt pad.

5) Press with Temp/Time/Pressure settings listed above.

6) Carefully remove tile from the press and allow to air cool.

Mosaic Ceramic Tile Sheets
Do not use Jetcol high release paper

6” Sheet 6-7 minutes
12” Sheet 10-11 minutes

1) Print the transfer, mirrored.

2) Cover the bottom of the heat press with protective paper.

3) Place the transfer on the face of the tile sheet, smooth wrinkles. Use heat tape on each edge to prevent tile sheet from shifting. Be sure the tape does not overlap the image as it comes into contact with the edge of the tile. Improperly applied heat tape will cause the affected area of the transfer to be inhibited.

4) Place the tile sheets face up onto a Teflon sheet, transfer on top, tape it to the Teflon. Cover with the protective sheet of paper and apply the green rubber pad on top of the tile.

5) Press with Temp/Time/Pressure settings listed above.

6) Carefully remove tile from the press and allow to air cool. Use a flat sheet of cardboard to move the tile. Then remove the transfer carefully. Do not move the tile again while the glue is re-hardening.

7) Clean ink residue from the Teflon sheet after each transfer. You can use a household cleaner such as Windex or Simple Green. Another technique is to heat the residue into a few sheets of protective paper until fully transferred from the Teflon.

If you are mounting these tiles and want to use grout: Un-sanded grout should be used. Tiles can be cleaned with any household non-abrasive cleaner and a soft cloth or sponge.

NOTE: Do not use grout for IronClad tiles, especially colored grout which will stain the tiles. Mortar, glue or silicone are recommended.

Recommended Paper: TexPrint, DyeTrans - Do not use Jetcol high release paper.
