Vapor Apparel® Foam Kit for tee shirt production. No one likes lines and this goes double for your clients. This foam kit was developed to eliminate production lines caused by edges, presses, and paper. Kit Includes: 24” x 82” heat resistant foam; (3) practice shirts. Detailed instructions are also provided. The Foam Kit by Vapor Apparel helps prevent press and paper lines caused during the transfer process during sublimation printing. Using the Vapor tested foam adds a layer of cushioning in between your press plates allowing the edges of your transfer paper to float off the edge of your garment. A perfect product for anyone sublimating and selling custom shirts. The Vapor Foam Kit comes with 13.5 sq. ft. of heat resistant foam. In addition, you will receive an instruction sheet and three second quality garments to practice with.

Heat Press Instructions:
The Foam Kit by Vapor Apparel helps prevent press and paper lines caused during the transfer process during sublimation printing. Using the Vapor tested foam adds a layer of cushioning in between your press plates allowing the edges of your transfer paper to float off the edge of your garment.

The Vapor Foam Kit comes with 13.5 sq. ft. of heat resistant foam. In addition, you will receive an instruction sheet and three second quality garments to practice with.

This foam kit will help remove press and paper lines from a garment that is decorated using a heat press. Atmospheric conditions and other factors can alter the performance of a press and garment. These instructions are meant to be used as a guide to help improve the quality of your printing output, but no claims are being made that these will ensure you make a perfect garment.

Step-by-Step Instructions:
Before You Press:

1. Set the heat press temperature to 380° F -390° F*

2. Set the timer for 35-45 seconds

3. Place a piece of Vapor Foam on the press and adjust the pressure so the platen pushes down the foam to half its height but does not touch the bottom plate.

4. Cover the foam with a piece of thin teflon (5 Mil).

5. Secure the teflon with tape on the top side of the bottom platten.

6. Place shirt on press and position desired decorative area atop the foam.

*Variations can be expected with different presses. Initial tests should be done to adjust settings for your press.

Printing the Transfer:

1. Print the transfer with a 1-2 inch margin on all sides of image.**

2. If cutting the paper, leave margins around each side of image.

**This margin allows the paper to hang off the edge of the Vapor Foam, aiding in the paper line elimination.

Preparing the Vapor Foam:
1. Cut the Vapor Foam so the edges are smaller than the

2. Using a pair of scissors, cut the edges of the Vapor Foam to a 45 angle, making sure the edges are smooth.
3. Make a 1-2 inch margin around image transfer.

Layering the Press:

1. For Basic T’s: place Vapor Foam on press

2. Cover Vapor Foam with a thin piece of teflon

3. Secure the teflon with tape on top side of the bottom platen

4. Place shirt on press & position desired decorative area atop the foam.

* For Micro Performance shirts: dress the shirt over the Vapor Foam, slide teflon between the foam & the shirt. Place the dressed shirt on the press Position your transfer on top of the shirt (make sure edges of paper are hanging over Vapor Foam edges).

Pressing the Shirt:
For Basic-T: Place Vapor Foam on press and lay shirt on top of foam
For Micro Performance: Dress the shirt over the Vapor Foam
Position transfer on shirt -paper edges should hang over edges of foam

1. Press for appropriate time, making sure pressure is enough to push the Vapor Foam approximately halfway toward the bottom plate -this pressure would be described as very - to extremely light

2. Remove the heat platen and the paper transfer

3. Slightly stretch the shirt vertically and horizontally

I used the foam to decorate a canvas bag with heat vinyl transfer and it was great! I cut it to fit the inside of the bag with a box cutter and a metal ruler and it was very easy to cut. I've used that piece twice and it looks like I haven't used it at all. I've tried pressing pillows but they get a bit flattened after the first use. Not the case with this foam. I highly recommend it!
