Sublimation on its own offers many creative ways to decorate and personalize products, but have you ever thought about using sublimation as a way to enhance your other crafts? Embroidery has been around for centuries but adding sublimation to your embroidery crafts can give it a brand-new spin!
Whether you embroider by hand or by machine, Conde System’s wide range of fabric by the yard and other products can help you add depth and extra personalization to any embroidery project. Adding a simple background to the fabric before embroidering can give even the simplest project that little extra something.
For the pictured projects, the background is a simple orange to purple gradient that any design software can help you create in just minutes. Depending on your level of skill, you can even design your embroidery pattern on the same software and sublimate it directly to the fabric itself, as we did for the mountain embroidery pattern. The flower pattern shown (available for free on DMC.com (http://dmc.com/)) and the fragile pattern were transferred to the fabric after it had been sublimated.

Using our PolyDuck Canvas fabric was great for embroidering as it offered a nice tight weave that allowed the stitches to sit close together and avoid gapping.
Why stop at the just the canvas fabric though? Embroidery is a great craft that works well on many different fabrics and products that Conde Systems already offers you for sublimation. Add extra dimension to a SubliLinen tote bag or apron! Add an extra fancy border to our Felt Ornaments! Make our burlap drawstring bags pop with embroidered lettering!
Our crafting with sublimation series will continue next with cut and sew items! Do you have a craft you’d like to see sublimation added to? Let us know and we’ll do the experimenting for you.
