Ricoh Color Density

Ricoh Color Density
The Ricoh printer driver has a button on the Printer Configuration tab named “Adjust Color Density”
This is used for slight variations in ink saturation.

We recommend that you use the same values printed on a label on the print head unless you are having specific problems. Adjusting these values can have a slight affect on your colors. Sometimes, you may see what we call “pizza wheel marks” on your prints, especially when you are printing to TexPrint-XP paper. This shows up sometimes with Chromablast prints as well. This happens when the ink is still wet as it passes across the exit rollers. This can sometimes be fixed by turning down the black color density to around “2”.

This puts less ink on the paper and will help prevent the roller from tracking across wet ink. Please note that Conde does not recommend using TexPrint-XP paper with the Ricoh printers. TexPrint-R is specifically designed for the Ricoh. This could also be used to “personalize” your printer. These settings can be used for fine adjustments to color density. Increasing the number will slightly increase the amount of ink that printer lays down in that color. This might help get your prints right on target. If you use this adjustment to fine tune your prints please document your settings in case you have to re-install the printer in the future. balance adjustments Ricoh Another use for this adjustment is for substrates that require just a little more ink.

Some substrates tend to need a little more saturation.
This, along with the saturation adjustment in printing preferences, can be used to saturate the print which in turn will cause more ink to transfer. Again, when doing this, be sure to document your settings. The color density adjustment will be remain regardless of the custom settings used, however, the saturation levels will go back to zero if you reselect “Conde ICC”, so you will want to save another custom setting with this saturation level. Be sure to name this so that you will recognize the setting on sight.
